Wrath of the Lich King (patch 3.3.5a) is still the default home for private-server players. The emulation scene has been building on TrinityCore and AzerothCore for over a decade, and the results show — WotLK realms are the most polished, most populated, and most varied servers available.
This guide rounds up the WotLK servers we track as of August 2026, split by what they offer. Current status for every server is on the tracker, where the list is updated as realms open, merge, or shut down.
Blizzlike WotLK
- Warmane — the long-running giant of the scene, tracing its roots to Molten-WoW. One of the largest WotLK populations in the world, with Icecrown and Lordaeron covering high-rate and 1x play. The safest pick if you want a big, stable community.
- Sunwell.pl — a polish, blizzlike 3.3.5a realm with a solid scripting reputation and a dedicated raid community.
- Chromiecraft — a progressive PvE realm that unlocks raid content as scripts are completed. Good fit for PvE players who want content released in a controlled, tested way.
- Eternal Gaming — a newer blizzlike realm starting in the Ulduar phase with an open-source core, cross-faction play, and a no-pay-to-win policy.
High-rate and funservers
- Sirus — a WotLK realm with custom races, custom content, and one of the biggest daily populations in the scene (6-13k online). If you want WotLK mechanics with extra content on top, this is the strongest option.
- Triumvirate-WoW — a WotLK funserver focused on faster progression and relaxed rules.
Progressive and alternative
- Project Astral — a WotLK 3.3.5a realm with cross-faction play aimed at the EU.
- Eternyum — a progressive 3.3.5a realm with a Romanian community.
- Whitemane — Frostmourne — a WotLK+ realm from the Whitemane network, currently in development with a September 9, 2026 launch target.
Soloable WotLK
- TheraWoW — solo and small-group scaling with cross-faction play and playerbots, for people who want the WotLK world without a guild.
- OnlyFunsWoW — a soloable 3.3.5a realm with scaled dungeons and raids plus custom content.

Picking a server
A few rules of thumb:
- Decide your pace first. 1x blizzlike (Warmane Lordaeron, Sunwell) is a long journey; funservers (Triumvirate) and Sirus skip straight to the content.
- Population matters more than features. A polished realm with 50 players gets boring fast. Check the tracker's playable WotLK list for the servers with healthy communities.
- Beware pay-to-win. Several realms openly sell gear. Blizzlike-minded servers like Eternal Gaming advertise no pay-to-win — worth prioritizing if that matters to you.
- Solo players have real options now. TheraWoW and OnlyFunsWoW show the scene has moved past requiring a group for everything.
