Mists of Pandaria (patch 5.4.8) is the expansion most people mean when they want Pandaren, Monks and Challenge Modes. The private scene for it is small, and it leans heavily on a few operators.
Every server below is in our tracker. MoP has a notable share of in-development projects, which we list separately because a project in testing is not a launch.
The network pick
- Whitemane Stormstout - MoP 5.4.8 on the Whitemane network (free to play, no pay-to-win, quality-of-life features, custom legendaries, solo-queue PvP). Currently in beta, with the full launch delayed a few months per the network's June 30 news. This is the MoP realm with the most infrastructure behind it.
Established
- PandaWoW - three realms with a live counter we read on October 4 2026: 360 players total, split x100 (190), Fun (120) and Cross (50). It publishes dated monthly fix lists, which is a good sign of an actively maintained core.
TwinStar realms
- Helios - 5.4.8 with Siege of Orgrimmar and the Timeless Isle, cross-faction, operated by TwinStar on its shared realm page.
- Perseus - TwinStar's fresh MoP realm, launched August 29 2026 and running 5.0 progression from the start.
Regional and smaller
- Stormgarde - 5.4.8 with an account site and a client download at logon.stormgarde.org. Previously listed as a WotLK solo realm and corrected on September 5 2026.
In development
- Miststorm - 5.4.8 "blizzlike plus" in closed alpha since April 2026, with custom Mythic+ for dungeons and raids, solo-queue arenas, cross-faction battlegrounds and accelerated 1 to 90 leveling.
- Emervoid - a German MoP and Legion project with an open bugtracker tracking Antorus and class-hall issues by percentage fixed. Not playable yet.
What's gone
Stormforge (Mistblade) shut down in May 2026 after a Blizzard cease-and-desist, alongside the wider 2026 crackdown documented in our explainer.
How to choose
MoP is a waiting game in 2026. If you need a realm today, PandaWoW is the most established and Helios and Perseus are the TwinStar options. If you can wait, Whitemane Stormstout is the one with a full network behind it once it leaves beta. Watch the launch calendar for the projects that set a date.
Picks by expansion: WotLK, TBC, Cataclysm, Legion, Vanilla, and Vanilla+.
