The Shutdown of Stormforge

Legal Milestone

Stormforge officially shut down on May 14, 2026, following direct legal intervention from Blizzard Entertainment. Occurring in tandem with the massive Turtle WoW legal crackdown, the closure ended over four years of highly regarded emulation services.

Formed as a landmark merger between the Tauri and Atlantiss development teams, Stormforge combined Tauri's industry-leading Mists of Pandaria (MoP) core architecture with Atlantiss's highly optimized The Burning Crusade (TBC) framework, widely recognized by the community for achieving some of the highest scripting quality in the scene.
