Cataclysm (patch 4.3.4) is a smaller scene than Wrath, but 2026 has been kind to it: two large realms from one network, several long-running Spanish communities, and a few projects bolting Mythic+ onto a 2011-era expansion.
Everything below is in our tracker. Check the individual cards, because Cataclysm has more unverifiable entries than most expansions and we flag them.
The big two
- Whitemane Gilneas - Cataclysm 4.3.4 on the Whitemane network (free to play, no pay-to-win, a launcher for Windows, Mac, Linux and Steam Deck, quality-of-life features, custom legendaries, solo-queue PvP and rated battleground matchmaking). One of the largest Cataclysm populations we track.
- Whitemane Maelstrom - the network's second 4.3.4 realm on the same stack. Between the two, Whitemane is the default Cataclysm pick if you want a big population and a modern launcher.
Veteran and regional communities
- WarSages - Spanish blizzlike 4.3.4 in the Dragon Soul era, with a Magma Front zone added in July 2025, a large Discord and roughly 125 online at our October 3 2026 check.
- WOW-COLOMBIA - running since 2007, Spanish, Latin American, and running Cataclysm 4.3.4 and Vanilla 1.12.1 side by side. About as veteran as the scene gets.
- Valkyria - Spanish and unusual in running patch 4.0.6 rather than 4.3.4, with a progressive Europa realm, character migrations and hardcore-fallen rankings.
Mythic+ experiments
- Proudmoore - TwinStar's Cataclysm realm, billed as the first Mythic+ Cataclysm server. It is reachable through TwinStar's shared multi-realm page rather than a dedicated site.
- Starfall WoW - a progressive 4.3.4 realm in Phase 2 (patch 4.1, with Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub heroics) and a custom 15-affix Mythic+ with keys to +15 and gear at the current heroic raid item level.
Smaller and flagged
- IceCold - a Wrath-era Cataclysm 4.3.4 realm with a conventional forum and support stack, confirmed operating on October 14 2026.
- Warriorland - a French blizzlike 4.3.4 realm, home-hosted on dynamic DNS, advertising sophisticated PvP and PvE scripting. Tiny by its own counter.
- Apollo II - associated with TwinStar, but our address points at TwinStar's shared page, which on September 29 2026 listed four realms and did not include Apollo II. Treated as unverified.
- Atlantiss - historically the Cataclysm flagship of the Tauri network, relaunched in February 2024. We could not locate a live site for it, so it is flagged unverifiable and its claims are historical.
In development
- Hour of Twilight - a custom project whose address now resolves to its Discord, which reported thousands of members at our last read. Not playable.
How to choose
If population and stability matter most, Whitemane Gilneas or Maelstrom. If you want a Spanish community, WarSages or WOW-COLOMBIA. If Mythic+ is the draw, Starfall WoW and Proudmoore are the two actively pushing it. Cataclysm carries more unverifiable entries than most expansions, so lean on the tracker flags and on how we review a server.
Picks by expansion: WotLK, TBC, Mists of Pandaria, Legion, Vanilla, and Vanilla+.
