The WoW Forever beta closed on schedule today at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The 24-hour send-off that we covered yesterday ran through the final day in Zephras Isle and the classic starter zones, and the RSS/blue-tracker feed picked up the closure posts across EU and US shortly after close.
The closure post
"The WoW Forever Beta is now closed, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us over the last five weeks of playtesting, data gathering, bug reporting, and feedback. We're now quickly moving into a period of a few short days where we will do some focused work on priority issues and the work necessary to get ready for launch on November 4."
No surprise extension, no last-minute time change. The team went straight to "focused work on priority issues" with launch still on November 4. Name reservation remains set for October 27-November 3, and the newly announced Roleplay-PvP ruleset is still on track to be selectable when reservations open (our RP-PvP piece carries the details).
What's next
- October 27: name reservation opens by region (EU 18:00 CET, NA 1:00 p.m. PDT, KR/TW Oct 28 07:00 KST/CST). Watch for RP-PvP to appear as a selectable ruleset in that window.
- November 4: global launch at 3:00 p.m. PST. Three raids unlock December 9 (Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, Onyxia's Lair). The podcast end-of-beta special (episode 5) is a good recap of the beta cycle.
