The beta does not go quietly. A blue post today declares a 24 hour end-of-beta celebration:
"The WoW Forever Beta will end 24 hours from now, at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, October 23, and until that fateful moment, we're celebrating the joy and wonder of WoW Forever with 24 hours of shenanigans and upheaval in Zephras Isle, Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, and Mulgore."
That is the full classic starting zone list for both factions plus the Skyborne island, which fits the structural joke of the exercise: upset the tutorial continents one last time before they reset forever.
The close time is confirmed twice
The 10:00 a.m. PDT close matches Kaivax's earlier announcement, which we already carried when the beta was extended to October 23. Today's post names the same date and time on its own schedule as the celebration's end point, so the close now stands on two separate official statements rather than one.
What happened this morning
The beta also earned today a soft restart. The stress test ended late on October 21, and a post very early on October 22 read:
"We hit a small snag while turning the WoW Forever Beta back online. We're working right now to get it back. In the meantime, you can speed this up by fully exiting the Battle.net Desktop App to force the update to happen manually."
The wording ("force the update") indicates the beta came back with a new build to download, with the snag on Blizzard's side rather than a client failure. For testers: if your beta still shows a stuck state, the app restart workaround applies.
What the format says about launch load
The send-off format matters for one practical reason: shenanigans events are population tests with a party hat on. Event-driven crowding in a native starting zone, on regional hardware, after the October 21 stress test, is exactly the kind of load pattern that a network would need for its own launch week. It is also a callback the private server scene recognizes instantly, because gathering in the starting zones for the last night of a world is a private server tradition with a history.
