Blizzard announced a new Forever battleground on October 7: Battle for the Darkspear Islands, off the Dustwallow Marsh coast, pitting Darkspear Raiders against the Theramore Expeditionary Force.

The format

15v15, capture point with a flag capture rule set, levels 30 to 60. Four capture points across the islands plus a central flag; controlling more points accrues score faster, and carrying the flag to a captured base adds more. First team to 2,000 points wins.

That is a hybrid rule set rather than a clone: Arathi-style points plus a Warsong-style flag objective in the same match.

Access and rewards

Queue from a battlemaster in any major capital, or from the faction bases in the Barrens (Merchant Coast for Horde, Northwatch for Alliance), which also hold reputation vendors and battleground quests plus a portal into the battle.

Two reputation tracks, one per faction, selling trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons and armor at thresholds, plus consumables and Marks turn-ins.

Why a mid-level BG matters

Levels 30 to 60 is the levelling band, not the endgame. A battleground tuned for it, with its own gear track, is a statement that PvP progression starts before cap rather than after it. Combined with the Honor and Rank Point system, Forever is building PvP as a parallel levelling path, which original WoW never quite did.
