What this column is
Deal coverage on most sites repeats the seller's numbers: "47 percent off", with no way to know whether the list price was ever real. This column is the opposite. Every deal gets the same five checks:
- Read the price from the product's own Amazon page, not a headline.
- Record the displayed list price and the current price, with the date.
- Anchor the list price against what the product is known to cost, from its launch price or established street pricing.
- Verdict: genuine discount, or inflated-list fake sale.
- Record the caveats, including currency and delivery-destination effects.
The deal today: Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro
Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro wireless gaming mouse (ASIN B0B6XZLNHQ), recorded October 12 2026:
- Current price: CAD 114.08
- Displayed list price: CAD 213.92 (an implied reduction of about 47 percent)
- Rating: 4.3 of 5 stars from 2,220 reviews
Prices shown in CAD because the storefront resolved to a Canada delivery address at the time of reading. The affiliate link is the US storefront, where the same product is typically priced lower in USD.
The verdict: genuine
This is a real discount, by our anchor test. The DeathAdder V3 Pro is a flagship Razer mouse whose launch price is well established at $149.99 USD, and the displayed list price of CAD 213.92 converts to about that same figure, and the current price is about $83 USD. When the displayed list price matches the product's known normal price, a deep cut is a genuine deal and not a fake-sale inflation.
That last sentence is the whole method. The same 47 percent figure on an unknown brand with no anchor would get the opposite verdict: treat it as marketing. Deal-checking rewards recognizable products with verifiable prices, and that is exactly what it should reward.
Why it matters here
A 63-gram, 90-hour-battery wireless flagship is overkill for most players, which is honestly part of the verdict: a genuine deal on a top-tier product is still a top-tier purchase. It sits at the top of the launch kit's tier three, and with 48 percent of the realms on our tracker running Wrath, a mouse that outlasts a full raid night without charging is a real quality-of-life buy for launch week in November.
Not a budget pick. A genuine deal on a flagship, which the budget guides cover for the other 90 percent of players.
