Warmane has confirmed the date: Icecrown Citadel opens on Onyxia realm September 5 at 14:00 UTC. The Frozen Throne awaits — the final raid of Wrath of the Lich King arrives after a phased rollout that began with Molten Core and Zul'Aman on July 25, followed by Gruul's Lair on August 8.

Why this matters

Warmane's Onyxia realm is the flagship Wrath progression server in the private scene, consistently pulling thousands of concurrent players. Their phased release model — spacing raid tiers 2–3 weeks apart — has become the standard for "progressive" Wrath servers. The September 5 ICC launch continues a schedule announced months ago, and the community has been prepping for months.

The private-server context

Two weeks before BlizzCon 2026, this is the last major Wrath progression milestone on the private side before Blizzard's own Wrath Anniversary announcement (widely expected at BlizzCon). The timing creates a natural comparison:

Server ICC Launch Model
Warmane Onyxia Sep 5, 2026 Progressive, phased
Triumvirate Aug 28, 2026 Seasonal, lvl-60 endgame
Sunwell.pl Late 2026 (est.) Progressive

Warmane's approach is "blizzlike" — slow, deliberate, with gold squishes and inactivity cleanups between phases. Triumvirate's is "seasonal" — lvl-60 endgame, Mythic+, faster resets. Both are valid; the community splits on preference.
