Our UnlimitedWoW entry said Season 11. The site's own seasonal PvP ladder, read this morning, reads Season 17.
That is six seasons of drift on a single counter, on an entry last checked on 24 August. It is the same failure as the Firestorm Reforged launch we still had listed as pending, and the same class as a stale release date: a field that recorded a plan instead of a reading.
The ladder is live and populated
Not a placeholder. The page carries a full kill table for the current season, topped by Emersa on 442 kills, then Corruptura on 381, Smurrf on 358, Trembolado on 255, Blizzboomb on 239, Iamwar on 223, Brainalpqr on 203, Knasenn on 200, Mazinga on 188 and Chocopao at 178.
That matters for two reasons. A server publishing a top-ten kill table with those numbers has an active ranked PvP population, which is not something a dormant project does. And 442 kills on a season leaderboard is a mid-sized number, not a large one, which is a more honest basis for the tier than the Discord count we had been carrying.
Tier 16 has been live since March, and we had not recorded it
The bigger omission is content. Our entry described a "custom Tier 1-15 gear ladder", and that stopped being true in March 2026.
From the project's own changelog:
- 18 March 2026: introduction of Tier 16, Secrets of Ulduar, a solo raid of 5 bosses with the layout scaled down to make it manageable solo.
- 27 March 2026: Tier 16 released, adding four new world bosses: Ignis the Furnace Master, Auriaya, General Vezax and Algalon the Observer. Two sit in PvP zones and two in PvE zones.
- A new area, the Ruins of Alterac, with PvP enabled, plus four new solo quests and a dedicated solo daily quest NPC.
- Daily quest NPCs split into three categories: World Boss, Raid and Solo.
- Daily rewards restructured from T15.5 to Ironsoul Medallions plus T16.5, with a new Icecrown Medallion Exchange quest converting the old currency.
- Quest requirements for Tier 15 reduced by 25%, and Tier 14.5 and 15.5 quest givers removed because the medallions they required were no longer obtainable.
- Resurrection Sickness disabled, and the Hearthstone now permanently spawns a mini teleporter on use.
That is a real content state and our entry described a server two tiers behind.
The thing a reader should know before assuming otherwise
Every tier release on this server stat-boosts Donor and VIP gear, described as "our new tier release standard".
That is a paid advantage scaling with content, on a server whose entry we had described as a custom funserver with no note about it. It does not make the server bad, and a boost that keeps pace with progression is a common and defensible model. But a tracker that omits it is omitting the single most decision-relevant fact about how the server is funded, and we were omitting it.
What we changed
Season 11 struck, Season 17 recorded, with the ladder named as the source and the leader's kill count quoted so the next reader can see whether it is still an active season.
Tier 16 recorded with its release dates, boss names, the new zone, and the medallion restructure.
The donation gear policy recorded, plainly, because it is a fact about the server's economics and belongs in the entry.
The tier stays small, now sourced to the site's own active ladder rather than a Discord count we cannot refresh.
What we cannot tell you
Whether a 255 funserver with solo raids and boosted donor gear is good or bad. That is a judgement we have no standing to make without playing it, and it is not one we make in a tracker entry.
We also do not know what Tier 17 looks like, or whether the six-season gap means seasons run monthly as UnlimitedWoW's own earlier notes suggested. The ladder page shows a countdown that renders as "Loading" over plain HTTP, so we could not read the season end date either way.
SOURCES: UnlimitedWoW's own homepage and changelog, read October 2 2026 with a control domain probed in the same batch. The season number, the kill table, every Tier 16 date and feature, the boss names, the medallion restructure and the donor and VIP gear statement are quoted or transcribed from those pages.
