GrimfallWoW launched Conquest of Azeroth: Phase 1 on October 16 2026, a second product line beside its existing Classless realm.
The project's own announcement page reads "Phase 1 · Live Now" and states the release is progressive and phased with an initial level cap of 20, with later phases raising the cap. At the level 20 cap it offers scaled Heroic and Mythic dungeons and other end-game content, which is unusual for a level 20 ceiling.
What Phase 1 ships
- 21 new custom classes, each with unique abilities, expanded talent trees and specializations. The page names the Necromancer, Chronomancer and Runemaster among them.
- More than 10 additional playable races, with racials, forms, faction flavor and visuals.
- Prestige, which resets a character back to level 1 for cosmetics, heirlooms, mounts, pets and Chrono Fragments.
- Scaled TBC and WotLK dungeons and quests, plus two Cataclysm dungeons adapted to 3.3.5a: The Stonecore and Lost City of the Tol'vir.
- Tol Barad as a daily quest zone, and rebuilt Kezan and Gilneas starting experiences.
GrimfallWoW's Classless realm released September 5 2026 after an open beta from March 27, and remains live. The two products share a site and a download page, and the Conquest of Azeroth phase is presented as a separate realm rather than a replacement.
The name, and why it needs a warning
Conquest is now the most overloaded name in this scene, and we track several unrelated projects under it:
- Conquest of Azeroth was the Ascension network realm, shut down September 4 2026 after a Blizzard cease-and-desist. That entry is
dead. - Conquest of AzerothCore is an open-source continuation on the AzerothCore core, running 22 classes at a public bug-test realm. We updated it today.
- Conquest Reborn is an independent, non-commercial WotLK realm in closed testing.
- GrimfallWoW's Conquest of Azeroth is this release.
- Separately, ArdenWoW lists 21 custom classes in its closed alpha, with a roster of class names that overlaps heavily with what GrimfallWoW is now shipping, including the same three examples.
We are not claiming those projects share code, staff, or a source. We are saying the numbers and names line up closely enough that a reader should not assume any two of them are the same thing, and that we will say so if we can verify a link. Each entry on the tracker now states which Conquest it is.
The full Conquest name map, with every project and its status, is in our explainer. GrimfallWoW's own entry is here.
