Blizzard released the World of Warcraft: Forever original soundtrack, announced in the October 16 weekly highlights and available now through streaming services at the short link Blizzard published, lnk.to/WoWForever.

It runs nineteen tracks and just over forty minutes, and the track list doubles as a map of the expansion's new landmass.

Who wrote it

Blizzard credits five composers: Adam Burgess, Brendon Williams, David Arkenstone, Neal Acree and Jason Hayes. The music director is Derek Duke. The copyright line reads Azeroth Music and Omnica Music, which is the same pairing Blizzard has used for its retail soundtracks.

Arkenstone and Acree are the two names most associated with the modern Warcraft sound, and Hayes wrote much of the original 2004 score, which is a deliberate signal for a project whose pitch is "the old world, grown outward".

What the names tell us

The first five tracks never leave the Skyborne starting experience: Zephras Isle and Skyborne open the album, then Shadowgale Forest, Gustberry Lowlands and Shrine Of A'kir sit inside the same zone. That is a little over nine minutes of music for the new race's opening, which is more than any single Classic starting zone got.

Then the album walks outward. Riverglades at 10:55, Farholde Keep and Rog'mar Outpost as settlements, Twilight's Shroud and Wheeler's Grange in between, then Bolder'ok and Elderwild before the Mount Hyjal run that closes the record: Hyjal, Tainted Foothills, Mourning's Rest, Malorne's Retreat, Cradle Of Tranquility, Dae'gun and Summit Of Eternity.

The Hyjal sequence is seven tracks and more than sixteen minutes, ending at the summit. That is the raid zone, and the album treats it as the finale rather than as one stop among many.

Two names in that list are new to us as music cues rather than as content. Bolder'ok and Dae'gun do not appear in the dungeon or zone lists we have tracked from Blizzard's announcements, so the soundtrack is the first place they surface. That is a soundtrack credit, not a confirmation of what they are, and we are not going to guess.

Why a soundtrack matters here

It is easy to file this as merchandise. For a Classic+ project it is closer to a statement of scope. EverQuest-era Azeroth had a small, hugely recognisable score. Forever is adding four new regions, nine dungeons and a raid, and the music budget is one of the few places where Blizzard's investment is visible before launch without a subscription.

It is also the last pre-launch artefact that does not depend on servers, builds or dates. The beta closes on October 21, the stress test runs that same day, name reservation opens October 27, and launch is November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST. The album is already out, and it will sound the same at launch.
