Warcraft Tavern's Sponge confirmed that Season of Discovery book-collection quests function in Forever: turn 10 books for Friend of the Library (neck pick: Scholarly Pendant or Erudite's Amulet), 20 for Greater Friend (ring pick: Field Researcher's Loop or Philanthropist's Ring). Beyond 20 is uncharted.
The bigger find is gated behind the same books for one class. Mages who finish the collection learn Research, a new profession: Study consumes Light Feathers to craft spell scrolls on a 1-hour cooldown. And it is already broken in the way beta things break: multiple mages report the profession vanishing after relog, author-confirmed in the comments.
Pattern note: this is the second straight day of old-world systems resurfacing with new Forever wiring (after the Loch Modan detective quest). The beta rewards players who check whether familiar content does something new.
