What it is

SPP Classics v2.0 (celguar, 462 stars) is a repack, not a realm: Vanilla 1.12, TBC 2.4.3 and WotLK 3.3.5 on CMaNGOS with ike3 playerbots, running on localhost with no internet required after setup. The alternative to live solo servers ([Warstorm](/servers/warstorm/), [SoloCraft](/servers/solocraft/)): total control, zero community, immune to shutdowns. Already linked in our [resources](/); this is the guided tour.

Setup

  • Download SPP_Classics_V2.exe from releases (7z self-extractor, SSD recommended). Do not install over an old v1 repack.
  • Run Server_Update.bat (~300 MB), pick your expansion by number; files download per request. Never close the launcher mid-process.
  • Copy the Mangosbot addon from SPP_Server/Addons into your client's Interface/AddOns with out-of-date addons enabled.
  • Create an account from the menu, set realmlist to 127.0.0.1, log in. First boot is slow (1,000 random bots generate).

Bot tuning that matters

  • Bot count: 1,000 random bots default (aiplayerbot.conf); lower it if the server lags after 30+ minutes, then reset random bots from menu 6.
  • SyncQuestWithPlayer: set to 1 and grouped bots auto-complete shared quests with you. The single biggest QoL toggle.
  • AutoLearnTrainerSpells / AutoLearnQuestSpells: set to 1 so bots learn on level-up.
  • Rates: XP and friends live under SERVER RATES in mangosd.conf.

Shutdown ritual (read this)

Never close server windows with X. Run saveall in mangosd, then ser shut 1 and wait for the window to close itself, then option 0 shutdown. Skip this and you eat a rollback. Restart via Server_Update (checks updates) or Server_Start (no check).
